Extruded Linear Thruster

The Bimba Extruded Linear Thruster is a rugged, guided actuator with a cylinder integral to the thruster block.  The sleek body incorporates switch mounting, for a clean, space-efficient package.  As strokes increase, distance between the guide shaft bearings also increase.  For ET and ETD models, the maximum side load stays constant regardless of the stroke specified.

  • Standard U.S. customary (inch) threads for ports, mounting, and rods
  • Bore sizes: 12mm, 16mm, 20mm, 25mm, 32mm
  • Maximum operating pressure is 140 psi (10 bar)
  • Expected service life stretches to 1,500 miles (with filtered, lubricated air)
  • Temperature range is 15°F to 160°F (-10°C to 70°C)
  • PTFE grease used for cylinder lubrication

  • Bore sizes: 9/16", 3/4", 1-1/16", 1-1/2", 2", 2-1/2", 3"
  • Series standard stroke lengths range from 1” increments to 6” and 1” increments to 12”
  • Stroke lengths beyond maximum are available
  • Options:  internal bumpers, external bumpers on the guide shafts, cushions, and more
  • Alternate seal materials and lubricants for a wide variety of applications
  • The rear of the cylinder must be supported in horizontal applications

Composite Bearing Thruster

Bimba's TE series thrusters are rated to 250 psi.  These actuators feature a 304 stainless steel body, uses high-strength aluminum alloy porting ends, 303 stainless steel piston rods, Buna N "U" cup seals, and a sintered bronze rod guide bushing.  High temperature option V seals rated for higher temperature applications are also available.

  • Bore sizes: 9/16", 3/4", 1-1/16", 1-1/2", 2", 2-1/2", 3"
  • Standard stroke lengths range from 1” increments to 6” and 1” increments to 12"
  • Stroke lengths beyond maximum are available
  • Options:  internal bumpers, external bumpers on the guide shafts, cushions and more
  • Alternate seal materials and lubricants for a wide variety of applications
  • The rear of the cylinder must be supported in horizontal applications

Multiple Position Ball & Composite Bearing Thruster

Bimba’s multiple position linear thrusters incorporate a double-acting single rod end cylinder that provides an intermediate position in addition to fully extended and fully retracted positions. These actuators are rated for pressures up to 250 PSI and have low breakaway friction.  There are multiple materials and options to choose from for the guide shafts.

  • Bore sizes:  9/16", 3/4", 1-1/16", 1-1/2", 2"
  • Ball or composite bearings
  • Stroke lengths up to 12"
  • Construction follows popular T and TE series thrusters
  • Options include internal Buna N or external urethane bumpers
  • Buna N magnets for position sensing

Movable Housing Ball & Composite Bearing Thruster

Available in seven bore sizes from 9/16" through 3", the movable housing thruster from Bimba offers extremely high load carrying capability with the same precision and low friction found in our T series linear thrusters.  The Bimba Movable Housing is black anodized and fitted with either re-circulating ball bearings or TFE (lined) composite bearings.

  • Bore sizes:  9/16", 3/4", 1-1/16", 1-1/2", 2", 2-1/2", 3"
  • Standard stroke lengths are available in 1" increments to 12"
  • Stroke lengths are available in fractional increments and up to 32" maximum
  • Cylinder options include PFC and "500" series hydraulic Original Line®
  • Externally mounted shock absorbers
  • Stainless steel guide shafts

MFD Extruded Thruster

MFD's Extruded Thruster is a rugged, guided actuator with a cylinder integral to the thruster block. The sleek body incorporates a groove for switch mounting for a clean, space-efficient package. The thrusters can be mounted with screws from the top, bottom, or base or by using T-slots on the bottom.

  • Bore sizes:  12, 16, 20, 25, 32, 40, 50, and 63mm.
  • Available in strokes from 10mm to 250mm depending on the bore size.
  • The thruster is available with a bronze bushing or a linear ball bushing.
  • All thrusters come with magnets.
  • Thrusters are double acting.
  • All "in stock" thrusters typically ship the same day.

4 Shaft Ball Bearing Thruster

With the same distinct design as the original thruster series, including a black anodized body and precision re-circulating ball bearings, Bimba's “T4” provides ultra smooth actuation.  At the same time, four guide shafts, instead of the typical two, double the load-carrying capacity and reduce deflection.  T4 series thrusters are rated for pressures up to 250 PSI.

  • Bores sizes:  2”, 2-1/2”, 3”
  • Standard stroke lengths of 1” to 12”
  • Optional features include internal and external bumpers, air cushions, and more
  • Magnetic position sensing are also available
  • Custom strokes up to 36” available
  • Four guide shafts achieve doubled capacity and reduced deflection

PneuMoment™ Pneumatic Actuator

With eight PTFE impregnated bearing pads and a hard coat anodized load beam, the PneuMoment™ pneumatic actuator is capable of moving loads up to 700 lbs. and moments up to 7000 in-lbs. (Application and bore size dependent).  No lubrication is needed for the bearings, although standard air line lubrication should be used to enhance the actuator’s seal life.

  • Bore sizes for the PneuMoment™ pneumatic actuator:  1-1/16”, 1-1/2”, 2”, 2-1/2”
  • Standard stroke lengths:  1” to 15” (Custom stroke lengths available to 30”)
